Rocky Dawuni, Whizkid others secure Grammy nominations
Several African artistes including Rocky Dawuni from Ghana, Wizkid, Femi Kuti and Tems all from Nigeria have received nominations to participate in the 64th Annual Grammy Awards to be held in Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles in California, USA.
The ceremony, slated for Monday, January 31, 2022 will feature eight of Africa’s music stars including the prolific Ghanaian reggae artiste Rocky Dawun perform.

Nominations to the global stage is a delightful opportunity for artistes and acknowledgement by organisers and management of the event of nominees’ outstanding performances and contributions the music and entertainment industry in their respective countries, their continents and the wold.
Rocky Dawuni and Nigerian afrobeat superstar Wizkid were all nominated in the same category (Best Global Music Album).
Wizkid entered with his ‘made in Lagos'(deluxe) album whereas the Ghanaian reggae star Dawuni did with his “voice of Bunbon” vol.1.
Beninois Singer and songwriter, Angelique Kidjo also bagged a nomination in the same category as Wizkid and Rocky Dawuni with her ‘mother nature’ album, and has been tipped as a potential favourite.
Wizkid’s “essence” with Tems and Justin Bieber also bagged another nomination for Best Global Music Performance.
Sensational Singer, Burna Boy’s song with Angelique Kidjo also had a nomination.

Many of the nominees could not hold their excitement as they quickly storm the various social media platforms to break the news and celebrate their achievements with their family, friends and fans.
