The Ghana Police Service last Monday issued a directive prompting Christian religious leaders, particularly prophets in Ghana to be cautious of their prophetic disclosures concerning individuals or group come 31st December watch night services to be held in the various churches or risk possible Prosecution.
Though many Ghanaians have welcomed the directives as a step in the right direction and means to restore peace and tranquility in the society and also relief recipients off the fear
that the usual dreadful prophecies come with after the watch night and beyond, others charismatic leaders and their adherents see the move as a means to persecute revelators and suppress the of the Lord.
Popular among prophetic leaders who are not comfortable with the directive is the Leader and Founder of the Alive Chapel International, Archbishop-elect Elisha Salifu Amoako.
The man of God has subjected the IGP and the Ghana Police Service to public criticism for not engaging members of the prophetic front before coming out with such directive describing it as “needless as well as pointless”.
Meanwhile, Rev. Kwaku Oppong Richie, the General overseer,International Great Word chapel has commended the IGP for taken such initiative.
Rev. Kweku Oppong believes that it is about time the Christian community added wisdom to the way they communicate prophecies to the members and the public.
Christian Kwabena Andrews, popularly known in the Ghanaian prophetic circles as Osofo Kyiriabosom of the Life Assemly Worship Center also believes that the directive will separate the fake prophets from the good ones.
