Russia President, Vladimir Putin has assured leaders of Africa that his country has and will always be an alley to the continent.
According to Putin, his country has always valued the cordial relationship with Africa.
Leader of the former federation of fifteen national republics said Russia had always supported Africa against colonial aggression and modern day diplomatic concerns.
The astute politician and former Russian intelligence officer made the assertions when he met leaders of the continent in a diplomatic meeting.
Mr. Putin said Africa has huge potentials and that his country is prepared to develop the existing relationship with individual nations and the entire landmark.
He told Macky Sall, Chairman of the African Union and Mousa Faki that Russia prioritizes the new age diplomatic ties with countries on the continent.
He described the current bond between his country and Africa as “positive and fruitful”.
“Russia has always been on the side of Africa. It has always supported Africa in battles against colonialism and unfriendly diplomatic situations, he noted.

“At this new stage of development, Russia places great importance on its relations with African countries.I must say this has had positive results and impact,” Vladimir Putin emphasized.
Senegalese President and AU Chair, Macky Sall pointed out that many African countries have remained neutral in their opinions over the Russia-Ukraine conflict despite enormous pressure from global observers.
President Sall reminded the Russian leader that though Africa is not directly involved in the Russia-Ukraine crisis.
He however observed that the continent and it’s population are victims of the situation economically.
