The longest serving monarch of the United Kingdom, Queen Elizabeth II has died at the age of 96.
The outstanding British monarch gave up the ghost on September 8, 2022 at her Scottish Highlands Balmoral Castle.
Queen Elizabeth II ascended the UK throne following the death of her father, King George IV in February 1952.

Her Royal majesty’s reign coincided with 15 British prime ministers, 14 US presidents and seven Popes to the Vatican.
As the supreme governor of the Church of England, the Queen appointed six archbishops of Canterbury.
Queen Elizabeth performed her last constitutional mandate this Tuesday when she accepted Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s resignation and mandated Liz Truss to constitute a new government.
Elizabeth Alexandra Mary (Elizabeth II) was born 21 April, 1926 in Mayfair, London.
She was the first child of her parents, the Duke and Duchess of York, later named King George VI and Queen Elizabeth the first.
She became queen regent of seven independent Commonwealth countries at a tender age of 25.
They included the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Pakistan and Ceylon- modern day Sri Lanka.
She was at the same time the head of the British Commonwealth of Nations.
In November 1947, the Queen got married to Philip Mountbatten, a former prince of Greece and Denmark.
The royal couple had four children namely: Charles III, Anne also known as Princess Royal, Princess Andrew- Duke of York and Prince Edward Earl of Wessex.
Queen Elizabeth was the longest-lived and longest reigning British monarch.
She is also the longest-serving incumbent head of state and second- longest verifiable sovereign monarch, aside Louis XIV of France.
