The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) has met the Head of the Africa Oil Week(AOW) to explore strategies to position Ghana as a prime destination for oil and gas investments.
The meeting, according to the CEO forms part of preparations for GNPC’s 40th anniversary in 2025, alongside the upcoming Africa Oll Week (AOW) event and the APPO Chief Executives Forum in Ghana this year.
Hon Edward Abambire Bawa noted that Ghana’s oil sector need to use upcoming events to showcase the country’s immense oil and gas potentials on the global stage.
The CEO argued that these platforms provide a critical avenue for discussions on investment-friendly policies.
He emphasized the need for optimizing the country’s hydrocarbon resources, and ensuring Ghana’s continued competitiveness in Africa’s upstream energy sector.
Hon Bawa said the country’s energy sector continues to evolve and foster the right environment for investment and collaboration.
He observed that while Ghana embraces global energy transition programs and policies, hydrocarbons remain integral to the country’s energy potentials.
The former MP said the focus of government is to maximize value, streamline refining policies, and leveraging strategic partnerships to sustain and expand Ghana’s oil and gas industry.
