Zambia has extended its teacher recruitment deadline due to mad rush for teaching posts in the country.
Education authorities in Zambia have to extend the 2022 teacher recruitment deadline for another week.
A statement issued in the Zambian capital Lusaka, today Thursday, 14th April 2022 has announced.
The extension takes effect from Saturday April 16 to Friday 22nd April 2022.
According to the Teaching Service Commission, the seven days extension will enable all applicants complete the application process on time.
The Teaching Service Commission (TSC) in a statement said the extension has become necessary due to the large number of applications submitted for this year’s teaching appointment.

According to the commission, many applicants are yet to get their documents verified by the Examinations Council of Zambia.
Leadership of the commission called on all prospective teachers to take advantage and complete the submission of their application forms within the extended period.
Daphane Chimuka (Mrs.) Chairperson of the commission said there will be no further extension of the submission of application forms after the extension.
The commission indicated that the Zambia Postal Services (ZAMPOST) will work throughout the extended period so as to ease the submission process for all applicants.
Authorities therefore urged prospective applicants to take advantage of the extended period.
