Management of VIVO Energy Ghana has donated quantity of fuel to the Ashanti Regional Security Council (ARSC) in Ghana.
Fuel worth thousands of Ghana Cedis has been provided to support security patrols and other security operations in the region.
Staff of VIVO Energy( Shell Ghana) led by the country’s Cooperate Communications Manager, Shirley Tony Kum made the donation on behalf of the company.
The presentation ceremony was held at the Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council in Kumasi on August 31, 2022.

Addressing members of the regional security council at the presentation ceremony, Shirley Tony Kum said her company is committed to the safety and security of its business environment.
She said the donation was therefore made in response to a call for assistance from the regional minister’s office.
The Communications Manager explained that VIVO Energy has had a good cooperate relationship with the regional coordinating council over the years and has supported a number of initiatives in the region.
“VIVO Energy has been a partner and supported the Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council in a number of social initiatives. VIVO will continue to assist any noble cause when the need arises”, she pointed out.
She said management of VIVO Energy Ghana is worried about recent reports of robbery attacks on fuel stations and shops in the region and the country.
She regrets that such attacks do not only result in lost of cooperate capital and profits but that of precious lives of innocent staff and customers as well.
The Communications Manager said VIVO believes regular and timely security patrol and visibility can help reduce crime rate.
Madam Shirley Kum expressed hope that the amount of fuel provided by her outfit serve the security operatives in the region for a while.
She assured that VIVO Energy will always contribute to the welfare of its operational communities.
Regional Minister and Chairman of the Ashanti Regional Security Council, Simon Osei Mensah received the donation on behalf of the council.
He thanked management of the energy firm for responding to the call for assistance from the regional coordinating council.
Simon Osei Mensah also commended management of VIVO Energy Ghana for supporting cooperate initiatives in the region.
The regional minister noted that security is a shared responsibility and therefore urged other cooperate entities to follow the good example of VIVO Energy.
VIVO Energy is the sole marketer and distributor of Shell and Engen branded fuels and lubricants in Africa.
The energy firm currently operates in 23 African markets and boast of over 2000 service stations across the continent.
