Addressing the media during the launch of the group at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology campus in Kumasi, convener for the United Voices for Change, Antwi Sylestine Roland wondered why Ghana with all its human and material resources should be in such current economic crisis.
He assured that the United Voices for Change movement would be a bridge to link future government and the people in order to ensure true leadership accountability and ensure that the right programs and policies are implemented to better the lot of the ordinary citizens.
The convener questioned why the once vocal organizations and critics of the former government have all of a sudden lost their voices and have refused to speak on issues of national interests and concern under the present NPP administration.
He pointed out how faith-based organizations, civil society groups and people in the academia criticized with loud voices which ultimately kept the then government in check.
“Unfortunately, all these people have lost their voices a situation that has embolden the current administration to push the nation further into the ditch ” he stated.
Mr. Antwi Sylestine Roland observed that the direction of the country today needs a swift change since all state statistics and realities in the Ghanaian society do not offer any hope for the country’s future.
Mr. Antwi therefore called on all well-meaning Ghanaian to rise and add their voices for change before the situation gets out of hand.
