The proprietress of the Leesbon Educational Center has called on parents and guardians to consider prioritizing their wards education by making adequate investment in it.
Lydia Serwaah Deborah made the appeal during the school’s 6th Graduation and Traditional Day ceremony in Asokore Mampong in the Ashanti region.
The proprietress observed that education is very vital in the life of every human and as such need’s adequate investments.
She noted that most parents over the years have not prioritized their children’s education over fashion, entertainment and funfairs in society.
The proprietress pointed that considering how society is becoming more and more complex, any parent who neglect their children’s education does a great disservice to themselves, the future of the children and society in general.
She on that note appealed to parents and guardians to make adequate time and financial resources for their ward’s education.
Touching on the impact that the school has made since its inception some 23 years ago, Madame Serwaah Debrah said the institutions has trained many responsible personalities in various working fields in the region and across the nation.
She said the school has made a name for itself in its catchment communities through discipline and academic excellence.
She therefore encouraged parents and guardians to consider the school as its number one choice for their ward’s education.
She also called on parents to help their children become conscious of their cultural and traditional heritages since that is what best define and identify us as Ghanaians among the rest of the world.
Explaining to journalists the rationale behind the school’s annual graduation and traditional day, the proprietress said management of the school realized that the country is gradually losing its true cultural heritage and as such thought it wise to incorporate the traditional day into the school’s annual graduation ceremony.
To portray the aspects of tradition and culture in the school’s annual event, pupils were dressed in the various indigenous Ghanaian clothing and apparel.
Parents and guidance could not hide their joy and enthusiasm as they watched their children and wards display both academic and traditional knowledge and values that the school has inculcated in their children.
