Ghana’s Amputee national team, the mysterious Black Challenge on Sunday lashed their Egyptian opponent 3-0 at the ongoing sixth Cup of African Nations for Amputee Football (CANAF) in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
The 18th minute goal by Yussif Yahya opened the score for Ghana and Hamza Mohammed’s 22nd minute goal sent the team in a commanding position to end the first half.
Sending a strong signal to other group D opponents, Mubarik Mohammed sealed the match by adding a goal to make it three for the Black Challenge in the second half.
Ghana’s win makes their qualification to the next stage much easier as the team hopes to replicate the success of the 2007 team by winning the trophy.
The Ghanaian team are in same Group D with Egypt and its West African Neighbour, Nigeria.
Nigeria takes on Egypt on Monday, November 29, as Ghana return to play Nigeria on Tuesday November 30 in the second Group D match.
The Black Challenge team who are all professional players plying their career in Turkey, except the goalkeeper from Ghana, surprised their Egyptian counterparts with skillful and inter-position play to stop them from making any dangerous attacks.

Despite the team’s stiffer opponent, the Ghanaian side managed to put themselves together to overpower Eygpt considering other international competitions ahead if they should win this African cup.
The Black challenge’s Captain for the side, Richard Arthur Opentil told the media after the match that he is very optimistic the cup would come to Ghana. “This is the time to make a strong case, he said, adding We are hopeful the cup would come to Ghana.
The host nation, Tanzania started the tournament well with a 2-1 win over Morocco, whereas Sierra Leone beat Uganda 3-0 in Group A.
The hottest Group B saw defending world and African champions, Angola taming debutants, Zanzibar 12-0 to top that group waiting for Kenya in their next match.
Cameroon narrowly beat the Gambia with 3-2 score to pick win as Liberia, the three time champions waits to take a bite of the game.
Recording the highest
number of countries participating, nations are expected to be playing interesting games in this year’s tournament in Tanzania.
